These past couple weeks
probably have been the busiest throughout the whole semester. There
was a lot to organize in terms of the summer semester, internships,
and school in general. However, we had a great weekend trip to
Chicago with the GLC where we presented our policy memos. My group
worked on cyber security issues, and the others worked on various
transatlantic security topics. The presentations were hold in the
Goethe Institute in front of Mr. Quelle who works for the German
Consulate in Chicago. Afterwards he invited us to come to the German
Consulate for a small tour. I spent the rest of the weekend
adventuring the city of Chicago. I did a lot of shopping and
sightseeing. I went to the Bean by the Millenium Park, the Navy Pier,
and I saw pretty much all of downtown Chicago.
Last week was super busy
with exams and final papers due. I'm happy that I could finish
everything in time. On Friday we had our GLC graduation ceremony
which was a nice opportunity to say our "thank yous" and
"goodbyes" to everyone. I got to know so many nice people,
I made friends, and learned so much about life off and on campus. I
really hope I will meet some these awesome people again at some
point. I am sure I will though.
Right now I am in Canton,
OH. I am staying here with one of my friends from the GLC until next
week. Then I will move to Omaha for the summer. I will be interning
with Banister Leadership Academy, a non-profit organization that
focuses on the work with youth and children. I am very excited to
start my internship and enjoy a couple months of summer in Nebraska.
